I created a screen with the cross pattern I've had sitting around for a month or so now which was inspired by the paintings in the book 'Christian Icons Thirteenth - Sixteenth Centuries' (translated from Russian). The design comes from a repetition of similar black and white patterns throughout the book on the clothing of some of the figures. I wanted to challenge myself with the use of this pattern because Its something I rarely use and incorporate it into multiple elements of my projects such as ceramics (which I've began), latex and constructed fabrics. I plan to create a sheet of latex (shapes influenced by Christian garments) to print the pattern on as a way to express the idea of the religious clothing being a 'second skin' and of great importance to the individualises who wore them.

My aroma work is somewhat at a standstill but I'm OK with it because I feel the 'Holy Anointing Oil' smell I made is perfect as is because it links to all the different forms of research my work is based on. Originally I planned to have a variety of smells but I went against that because of the limited space I have the scents will merge and lose their identities.
