'VESSEL 001' - 2021/2022

'VESSEL 001' consists of earthenware clay and was my first attempt at a coil pot. This work was also was fired at a high heat to give the earthy, organic and archaeological look linking to my historical research. This piece came from my research into ceramic vessels stemming from the Ampulla work. I've been experimenting with multiple holes/spouts in my vessels because it was something I was drawn to from my original Ampulla research and was something I found in a lot of the objects I was looking at such as the multiple spouted Roman oil lamps and Peruvian Double Spout and Bridge vessels. This piece is intended to join a series of pots that will be paired with my Aroma work therefore being named 'VESSEL 001'.
