'GESTALT'

This piece came from using spare 'parts' around my studio space and putting them together as an accumulation. Created using a fired byproduct of my pipe making which I glazed with pigeon spikes this piece explores visual contradictions with the harsh, sharp and sturdy spikes alongside the thin and delicate ceramic. This piece is entitled 'GESTALT' as the idea of gestalt is what my project is based around. Gestalt meaning an organised whole that is perceived as more than the sum of its parts.
