I wanted to push my ceramics further so I decided to teach myself how to coil. I want all the ceramics to play on the double spout but some in more subtle ways and some more over the top. I've currently made two pots and they were inspired roughly by the shape of traditional English pottery by mainly created instinctively. I want my next to be inspired by the Charles I coronation ampulla with its long exaggerated spouts nut I need to learn how to make long spouts first. I also finally got back my white glaze experiment and it created a nice white I just need to layer the glaze up more which is what I've done with the pipe/oil lamp pieces that were just bisque fired.
I also played with some of my older cilice work when setting up for my crit to see other ways I could display them. I folded and mounted my original piece in a box and I really liked the outcome, I like the idea of boxed work almost giving it a archived feel.
