I've been really busy building up work and playing with the ideas I have. I've created a couple more pots playing on the elements I felt were most successful in my previous pots as well as had my last two pots and fluted slab fired at a high heat. I feel like everything I've created over the last week has been very successful and is really elevating my project and ideas. I've began process on a new technique for my ceramics called 'Terra Sigillata' which is an Ancient Roman way of decoration made from slip and results in a glossy surface. I experimented with a pre-made version and loved the effect so I have begun making my own using the coil pot clay as this allows the Terra Sigillata to work a lot better. The process of creating the Sigilatta is a process of separation. Separation of the main body of clay, water and a fine slip, the fine slip being the Terra Sigillata.

Also been pushing my prints forward by creating a lot of plate variations that I've been testing on basic cartridge paper. My next step for the prints is to create a garment in the method of my original cilice using a variety of cream fabrics cut into squares and patched together. The idea behind this is to bring the print back to the world of garment that it came from and also with a nod to repentance garments and armour linking to the other pieces I'm working on.

Today I had a 1 on 1 meeting with artist Kate Street to discuss my work and the main point that we discussed was my plan for the OSB board plinths and how the board has such a character that it might take away from the work which in hindsight I agree with. Because she liked my screen-printed fabric so much it was suggested to maybe print the screen onto a found tablecloth to like to my other found fabrics and bring the prints into the 'SCENT VESSEL' work. A few artist were also suggested such as Carla Wright, Francis Upritchard and Jonathan Baldock who I will look into further.
