I started off the week by creating a net in the style of my cilice work but with the found synthetic rope as I felt the rope needing a reason within the work and not just randomly placed. Using this I create a new practice setup implementing all the idea I had planned such as the positioned dirt pattern. This came out extremely well and has made me fully confident in the work now I just need to implement the oil and diffuser elements. I've also been debating the title of the work as I feel titling a work is necessary when playing with a narrative. I'm thinking maybe calling it '((UNEARTHED)) VESSELS' playing on this idea of unearthing histories and narratives using a contemporary mindset.

Also been developing ideas for the hung fabric pattern pieces and I want to use a few different materials with a rich history, cotton calico, fine British linen and silk. I have ordered the cotton calico full size as I know i'll like that but made samples of the other fabrics as well as a modern cotton jersey as a play on clothing modern and ancient. The only silk available was faux silk so I don't think I will want to use it but I will wait and see. In terms of hanging I want to hang it in the way of my 'Clay Painting (Gold No1)'' work from my second year clay project.

I've also sorted some things out regarding the 'ST RICHARD' piece. I acquired an old chamber pot cupboard which works perfectly for this work proportionally and stylistically. I just now need to play with the inclusion of dirt as well as composition. Next I plan to play with more compositions for the degree show as a whole and my book which I'm still developing how to include.
